Okay gentlemen , here is the scoop. From the bait shop to the lake is clear no problems at all. The boat launch parking is plowed out and clear but glare ice so its 4wd only to get back up the hill. We went down with the Pickup truck in 4wd and back up never turned a tire. There is parking for several two wheel drive cars up top above the launch area. so we can park 10 or more cars. The lake surface is about 2 to 4 inches of slush on top of over a foot of ice. The slush may freeze tonight as its getting down to 18 degrees. Tomorrow is calling for partly sunny and a high of 25 with winds at 20 mph. Not too bad really. The real issue is where you live. From the bait shop to the lake and my house is clear. Michelle and I are ready to go . We will go if even one of you is in. In fact we may go anyway as we are hungry for some fresh pike. This outing is now on unless driving conditions on the expressway say otherwise. Jim, Will? what say you guys? Mike and Michelle
I think we should cancel then. Lets look at the first weekend after the banquet. I just busted the front end on my jeep doing my driveway . This winter simply will not quit kicking my bass. Wind chills will be at near zero. So gentlemen , lets look at March because we will still have 2 feet of ice on the lake after the banquet. Mike

is the launch at moore county park off of fruitvale rd? kinda right by Diamond point and happy mohawk-ish? Im going to be getting there in the afternoon so won't be following you over there
It is Deremo Park and yes its off fruitvale. It looks like we are all going to shoot for after the banquet. I dont want to see kids freezing and crap. The way things look with these temps going back into the single digits at night all of next week we are going to have solid ice through March so lets try it then. Signing off for now. I have to tear down my passenger side hub on the jeep and replace the steering universal on the axel shaft. Its all bound up and barely got back into my Garage. . I hate this damned weather.
Mike, I think your right. Saw the forcast for the next week and next Fri here the high is 11 with -5 at night. Only been out once this year and I was lucky 8" of ice and 40 degrees, no wind. It's a long way for me to go and losing my desire for ice fishing, my hands can't take it anymore, plus a 8" hand auger. But would like to take one chance at Diane.
