Michelle and I are waiting for a three day warming trend to head down there for one day. What did the Barbee chain look like as far as ice? We want to fish upper long but know that this lake has no flow so it may still be iced over. Any reports on what you guys saw while down there will help. Mike and Michelle

All the lakes we fished were basically open. Webster had a little bit of ice on it near the shore in Echo bay and a little on Backwater lake. Kuhn had a little by the launch, but we were still able to get the boat in with no problem. James was completely open and Tippy had some ice on the south side, but the rest was open. You should have no problem fishing any of the lakes.

Just got off the water down here. Everything is open now even Upper Long too. It had a little ice on the south end but very fishable.
