Here we go again! I'm not sure where this fish was killed, but I'm butt hurt just the same…….have the rules on harvest tags been taken off, or should this fish be tagged?[smilie=deadhorse.gif]

Tags are still effect, at least until the next book comes out which should be March of 2018, if I am not mistaken. So yes, the tag should have been applied already. Hopefully by then that one wouldn't have been legal 😈 😈 😈 😈

Doesn't hurt to report. They can do a license check if you give them the information you have. FB has gotten many people in trouble just from their own ignorance

Cheboygan is where he is from according to fbook and people's comments. His buddy has a speared one as well.

Apparently this isn't his first either if you scroll down his Facebook page. And he also has a "musky hunter" boat. I doubt he's releasing any fish he catches in the summer from all his fish pictures of pike also. But that's just my opinion I could be wrong.

Interesting, the Black and Cheboygan fish look so different but it is a melting pot downstream there

He has killed a bunch of muskies in his days. Don't look at his facebook photos if you don't want to see 30-40 dead muskies spanning his career.

Looks like all over his fbook is all from black lake and black River fish for the most part. Lots of big females speared. He lives on the lake it looks like.

Lots of pics of his friends that have floated around the internet over the past few winters are on his fbook page as well

This is the guy that used to rent shanties that came with everything you needed to spear in them… I seriously hope we can make an impact up there with the next round of regulation changes. Most of their fish seem to be in the 45-49" range. (I trolled the master angler and only one of his 8-9 fish he recorded was over 50). Anyhow, there would be 7-8 fish that he's admitted to that would have been sub-legal with a statewide 50" MSL, and that system SHOULD have a 54" minimum!

I am pretty sure the appropriate people have been informed.

With the news that another one was taken too soon, here is some of the commentary among the spearing community… The light bulb is definitely burned out if they can have this conversation and not get it! [smilie=bangtard.gif]

For any of you guys on the michigan-sportsman forum, I started a thread going about the statement above "If you see one, you don't pass it up, there's not a huge population of them" [smilie=crazy.gif]

The way I see it, this mindset is a BIG reason for our poor musky populations in northern waters. I was hoping to get some honest feedback from other fishermen, not necessarily musky fishermen, to see if they recognized the absurdity. But unfortunately some darkhouse guys jumped on it quick and have kinda torpedoed it.

So I'm asking a favor if anybody wants to chime in about this mindset? I would love to see more input and to keep the thread going a bit. I would recommend just ignoring the goofballs [smilie=brickwall.gif] and sticking to the high road!!!

Thank you! here's the thread and good luck shrugging off the annoying antagonistic remarks <url url="[Permission to view this media is denied]
