I have a Hummingbird 788CI HD that has never faltered, until this year. It has an internal GPS, and lately hasn't been able to get a fix. Also, when looking it says no GPS connected.
I have 575 hours on the unit, in a couple years, so warranty is long gone. Anybody have any suggestions, or had this problem with internal GPS birds?
Never had a problem with mine, but my first thought was the same as Bill's. especially if you have it hooked up to any ethernet stuff. The setting in there are pretty simple to go thru, so resetting it to factory default wouldn't impose too much on your life, and might fix the problem without a ton of scrolling thru menus
Then go to hummingbirds website and download the most current bios version and updater program for your unit. If yours has an internal card, I would copy your current file to your computer or laptop before you do the update. There are a couple other thing you can do to save the current bios file. 9 out if 10 would dictate a setting like vano said or software prob with these new heads, if in doubt bring it to someone who can do this for you.
