When I talked to the ranger today I said something about Hudson changing and he agreed. You have seen my reports on the clarity. It used to be real stained and could only see a foot or two. Now when you go to the back water you can't get there because of all the curly leaf weeds. It used to be lilly pads with big lanes and a blast to fish. Is this a envassive specie? And I wonder if someone brought in zebra muscles. I don't think it will get like Austin, but I think it's going to be a new learning curve. Wonder if I'm going to have to try fishing at night.

Curly leaf pondweed is invasive. Fortunately it doesn't tolerate sunlight very well and will top out, burn from the sun and then die off. I'm sure there are zebra mussels in there, probably have been for many years like all lakes. We've also had many days this spring with little wind and most of the reduced clarity in Hudson is from wave action.
