Hey Will…what lakes should or show/documented evidence of natural repro??I remember we were talkin at the bowling alley bar (sanford)this last year and you were explaining what kind of weed/weed cover is conducive to making babies.I know you said thornapple can`t,think I told you I`ve seen little babies at bankson, what about murray, ovid, sanford, austin, etc??
Guess the TC/great lakes/cheboygan lakes have what it takes….what is it again???
Dave
The deal is that muskie eggs suffocate easily because they settle to the bottom. Unlike bass or other panfish that make beds or nests to allow silt to filter around the eggs, muskie eggs fall into the silt. Unless they fall to gravel, weeds, or woody debris (a bonus is clean current) they will suffocate.
All of the GLS lakes are natural, many UP lakes are natural. Gun has proven that it will support natural reproduction. There are others that have potential and time will tell.
I would question Bankson, it depends on when you saw little babies at Bankson.
