Is this something I can bring my 4yr old along with me to help? He would absolutely love it! Is the water shallow enough for him to tag along with me and help out?
I think that's a little young, 10-12 would be the minimum. The liners on the ponds can be very slippery and pretty dangerous. If you were both there to just observe it would probably be fine.

How did it go on 11/7 !??
PIT tagged all of the fish for Big Bear and 600 of the Thornapple fish. As reported from the other ponds they look great this year avg. about 10.5 and I measured a few 12.5" fish while we were tagging/scanning fish.
The pond that was drained had more fish than planned and there was some last minute scrambling because the truck was full. I was stuck in the muskie lab all day and didn't get to see what was going on at the pond though. Maybe Adam or Scott has more info.
It went well after both trucks were full we filled up the trailer to put back in pond 3 they counted them out so that they would know what we took out of pond 4. Counting them into the trailer took one less step than the trucks so we didn't stick around to hear the final numbers. After the trucks were full they were thinking there may still be around 1000 to 1500 to put in pond 3!! Scott and I went to help with the tagging for a little before we left. Also went 1 for 2 on oster with a 41 incher in the boat.
