3 regular dawgs & 1 spring dawg is enough for me until they catch a fish
Just fish them some more and they will start paying off for you. It is such a love/hate relationship with them for people; people either absolutely hate them or absolutely love them. I hated them at first, but saw Will throwing them a lot and with so many big names throwing them I knew they had to be good. Finally I decided I needed to fish them more so I only brought a handful of dawgs to Murray and fished them all day. I didn't bring any other lures which forced me to fish dawgs the entire day and I got some action on them and my confidence grew. The next summer I bought a white magdawg and thought it was way too big for the fish, but tried it anyways and forced myself to fish it all day. Again, had some action on it and it is now one of my go-to baits. I am now messing with pounders and have already had action on them so I know they will soon be a big time producer for me. 90% of this game is confidence, but you might have to force yourself to use a bait in order to get that confidence.

Jason, your right no confidence. If you don't have confidence in a bait you feel like your wasting your time. Just need to give them more of a chance and catch a fish on them. Probably catch one on them and it will rip the tail off and I'll be real po'd!! 🙄
You'll need to stop fishing Hudson if you want to gain confidence in them.
I have to agree with Will Steve, you have to try some new water. I used to fish Hudson a lot and it just stays a tough lake to get fish casting on. Its an easy trolling lake and best when its bright and blue bird sunny. That flies in the face of any clear lake I have ever fished. The next time you get a real dark overcast day head over to Austin or Long. Those are not that far away from you. Mike
