Hi, Brian from the Ludington Daily News here. Got a photo of a 48-incher caught by a guy trolling in lower Hamlin Lake on Sunday. I'll be publishing a pic on the outdoors page this weekend and I'll share one with the group after that.

It looks like a big fat healthy female.

Before you ask, I don't yet know:
– if it was released
– whether he tagged it if he kept it
– what size Thunderstick it was on

I have a call in to the angler to ask him these things.
Whether you believe the lake should get what it does or not, it's nice to see on this size.
(Yes, I'm jealous. Stupid false reports of 14-inch perch in Pentwater!)

He did release it and it came on a two-hook model Thunderstick about four inches long.

[smilie=2thumbsup.gif] I work with a fellow fisherman whos uncle released 3 over the summer on bass spinners. He lives on the lake and gets in 6-10 hrs a week in the summer, mostly on the weekends.

Glad to hear it. Ive spent a fair amount of time up there since I live so close, But no pay off. This should help bring back some Hamlin motivation. Maby the muskies are scared of musky tackle because I only hear about them being caught on bass tackle. I live about 20 min from the lake if anyone wants to come up for a day and hope on board to wash lures.

Kevin, I'm in Ludington. I need to sit in a tree here sometime soon, but give me a call if you'd like to go on some windy day. 690-0872.
