Who would be willing to take someone fishing for a day so MMA can make some money by auctioning you on the online auction? MMA will purchase "guide for a day" insurance for you so that you'll be covered and will not be opening yourself to a lawsuit.

Ed brought this up while we were talking banquet stuff and now I'm looking for people to step up and offer a day on the water. If you want to specify:
– time of year
– only be on a weekend or weekday
– what lake/river or if you want to offer a choice of waters

Who is interested?

If there's someone that you would like to bid on, don't be bashful! Send them a PM and talk them into donating a day.

I'll put myself up for a Saturday of fishing. Buyers choice either Murray or Campau. We could either meet at the launch, or at a parking lot that would be beneficial to both of us.

Biggest fish from last year was 40" from Campau, 46" from Murray.

I've been "muskie fishing" for 2.5 yrs, ACTIVELY and SERIOUSLY for 1.5. yrs. My Personal Best Muskie is a 48.5 from Webster Lake, Indiana which I (and probably many others) think was a VERY lucky shot!

I've fished for bass and pike since I was about 6yrs. old, but more seriously in the last 4 yrs.

I prefer to cast on lakes that I'm more knowledgeable at (Campau, Murray, Thorn, Ovid) and seldom troll. The only time you'll see me trolling is on new water, or when I'm eating lunch. I'm not all that "high-tech", as I do not have rod holders… again, because I favor casting.

I fish out of a 18' fiberglass boat with a 115 hp Mercury and an electric trolling motor up front , with one sonar. Casting platforms and seats in the front and rear so it's quite comfortable. You can see pictures here:

-I will take anyone to Lake Webster, Lake Hudson, LSC, Lake Ovid, Lake Diane, Lake Murray or anywhere within 3 hours of Toledo.

-I will provide lunch and drinks (no alcohol), pay for the gas, pay for the insurance and cover all costs.

-I prefer to fish during the week (I hate crowds) but I can be flexible.

-We can go anytime it's legal to fish. (Webster is open early…)

You would be welcome to use any of my equipment with the only note that my baitcasters are all left hand retrieve. I have all the necessary equipment and baits and I have a bunch of the new baits and a 10' Musky Innovations rod you could try.

The other thing that might be of some interest to people is that I just installed a Humminbird 997C side imaging sonar/GPS unit in my boat. The unit is pretty cool and I have been playing with it over the winter to be prepared for Spring. We could go out on a lake that you think you know and take digital snapshots and videos of your favorite spots and below is a link about the technology:
<url url="[Permission to view this media is denied]
">[Permission to view this media is denied]

More info:
– I have been actively musky fishing for just 2 years.

-I have fished for pike and bass for about 10 years.

– I typically cast but recently set up my boat for trolling but I mostly prefer casting but I am open to trolling. When I say trolling I mean I have (2) Traxstech 18" mounts with (2) rod holders and that's it. I don't have down rods or planer boards and we would probably troll no more than (4) rods.

No. These will be posted later in the spring after the banquet and also so we can let the 170 other members that don't frequent the forum know that these will be available.

For those volunteering your time…

Would you mind posting:
– the number of years you have been muskie fishing
– number of years fishing other species
– a little about how you fish (casting/trolling/jigging)

A short bio will benefit those that don't know you guys that might bid on these trips. I want to be careful that we aren't misleading anyone.

Im Jason VandeKopple and I am one of the guides for a day for MMA. I have been musky fishing for about four years now but have been seriously chasing them for the last two years. Like most of the readers on here I've been fishing my whole life starting out with panfish then going to bass and pike and now exclusively for muskies. I mainly fish Murray lake but fish Campau a good amount too with a couple of trips here and there to other lakes like Thornapple, Austin, and Ovid. I cast 99.9% of the time and that is what I will be doing for this guide day. Weekend or weekday doesn't matter to me; whatever works best for the winning bidder. Murray and Campau would be the best bets for me to effectively guide on but am willing to go to other lakes if the winner wants to. Last year I caught over 50 muskies with 46" being the biggest or me but had a 47" and two 49's put in the boat with me. The year before that I caught around 30. I personally had numerous multifish days last year on murray lake including a 6 and a 4 fish day. I also had a 5 fish day at campau with 45" being the biggest out of there. We can fish Murray anytime of the year but I would suggest leaving campau more for the fall. Time also doesn't matter to me; I am willing to fish the whole day or just for a couple of hours. I have fished with edalz, jim tenhaaf, spoonplugger, deadduck, gmotchy and moski so if anyone has any questions about how I fish feel free to ask me or any of them.

I've heard using crappies works well… is this what they meant? 😯

Seriously, I'll volunteer to help raise money, if anyone's interested. Don't expect too much though, because I've only been at this for one year so far! [smilie=attention.gif]
