What is the best "bang for your buck"? Is it possible to find a nice GPS system for under $350? Something that can take lake map chips (preferred, but not a necessity), show a course, waypoints, etc? After being in Ed's boat, I've decided what I want for Fathers' Day! 😀 I don't have the greens to throw at something that nice, but I'd like to have something a little bigger than a handheld.
It is used but

I have the Lowrance 520 combo and the new HD5 combo and both of these where well over that price. I did get the HD5 for $250 off list price.
BTW I converted mine over to use while icefishing and it is great!! I use the units about 11 months out of the year.
If anyone has a Humminbird unit or just wants to get a better understanding of sonar and GPS I just got a DVD that is pretty good. I have attached the link and it is pretty general information and if anyone wants to borrow the DVD please PM me and I will send it to you to watch.
This is it and it covers the basics of sonar and GPS:
