MMA scored a big fat 0. It was tough fishing out there with that cold front just passing through. WLMC took the trophy back. It's been 4 years for them. I think they had 4 fish in their group. They had 36 (?) members fishing the event. Big fish award went to Jeff King from WLMC with a FAT 44 1/2" x 22" prespawner caught on James. Snow stayed away which was really nice. It was mostly sunny all day, just a little windy.
I wish Shell and I could have made it. We lost our puppy baby sitter and could not leave the pups in the outside pen as temps fell. We had 2 inches of snow here. But it looks as though we didnt miss much. 68 total fishermen and only 6 fish caught. But we bought our Indiana licenses so we are planning a trip down on Wednesday. Probably fish Skinner or Loon. I am also hearing things about upper long lake in Noble county. Chae is asking people for creel surveys there. I found it on the map and am looking for a map of the lake now. Only 86 acres so it wouldnt be too hard to pattern it quickly and score some fish. Wednesday is pre front with the third day of a warming trend right before temps fall again. Cloudy conditions after two sunny days
. Im thinking conditions will be perfect. Mike and Michelle

Glad to see a couple fish were caught. Dan and I fished Webster Friday until 1230pm, then hit the Barbi chain until dark had 1 follow, Stayed all day on Webster Saturday and got blanked. Very tough fishing.
I sure was glad the roads didn't have snow on them on the trip back. We were hearing a couple inches of snow, and I was not looking forward to the drive taking 4 hours. Brad, Matt, and myself made it back in 2 hrs 5min. I could've shaved off another 15 min if I was driving like Will. 😯 Boy, I sure do miss V-8 power. Durango (V-8) pulling an aluminum Targa vs Acadia (3.8l V-6) pulling an 18' fiberglass. My family ride did ok, though. I filled up before we left for the trip, and filled up again at the end of the trip. Total gas cost: $54. I didn't think that was too bad.

Don't you have the Hummer anymore?

No, my lease was up in August of '09. Kind of bitter-sweet. It sure was a safe/badazz truck, but the gas prices were killin' me. 10.5 mpg. When gas was $4 something/gallon, it was costing me over $100 to fill it up. It did it's good deed while I had it though, and saved my wife's life once. Literally. She was broadsided in the driver door by a drunk doing over 65 mph. I hate to think what would've happened if she was driving a car.

Should have gotten a Hemi. I get ~16 mpg pulling my boat, if I'm not horsing it. About 23-25 on the highway with no boat.

Yeah, but what if a raccon runs out in front of you LOL.
Good point, Corey! I hit a deer a couple weeks before I got rid of the Hummer with no damage. I'm sure I've ridden over a few raccoons in the past and never noticed!

I tell myself the same thing w/ the Durango… should have got the Hemi and it would have had better mileage. I'm OK w/ 15.5 mpg pulling my boat but would be happier w/ 18.

I would be surprised if our boats didn't weigh about the same. I'm guessing both on trailer weigh about 2600 lbs.
