German Muskie Visit

Long story but have known this guy from Germany for over a decade, exchanging pike lures etc., have talked of visiting for years, didn't really think it would ever materialize. In any case, he sort of invited himself this year, I didn't want to turn him away after talking of it for so long but it's a year that I can hardly get a day off or even fish a full weekend day, though I've made arrangements to fish at least two days. He gets in this Thursday and we'll fish Friday-Saturday, maybe a little Sunday before he leaves to visit a friend in Minnesota.

I'd really like to help him catch a muskie so I'll probably focus on higher population waters, depending on conditions. I was hoping Murray would have the shallow fall action going, seems to take water temps in the 60s which we might not have yet, but still worth a go, especially if we get some clouds/rain. I'm also thinking Ovid, though it has seemed off this year it has usually been a better bet than others if conditions aren't great, like sunny high pressure. My third choice is my closest lake Thorn, but only if conditions are right.

We'll be in my blue/white Crestliner, he's a big dude, might make Kid look skinny (no offense, Kid). Not sure if he can stand and cast all day, will have to mix in some trolling. Say hello if you see us, and of course any suggestions are appreciated. I haven't been doing too well lately but not really expecting he'd visit, I'd been bragging for years about our great area muskie populations. They are great fisheries, but rising to this guiding challenge and seeing that he catches one is another matter!
