If big rubber pulls "easy" I really want to witness this! Casting probably takes more effort, and unless you are always throwing downwind big rubber is never easy….

I've got tendinitis in my right elbow from those damn pounders, dussa and 3oz tubes… Somehow I tweaked my elbow pretty bad and now towards the end of day I'm in some serious pain.. It sucks!! The other day I had to pop some aleve and take a few breaks… Not fun.

The other thing that prob makes me get tired with those things is how hard i rip them. When i casually pull them it is no big deal, but trying to locate some active fish i prefer ripping em hard and that can beat me down after a bit. That's why i thought those monster dussa's mixed with the bigger body profile of a pounder would really pull. Id be interested to try one, does thorne only sell them in store? or can u get some online?

Maybe it's just relative to what I normally throw, but big rubber is a relief for me when I cast them. I throw rubber when I'm burned out from other baits and when I need to rest for a half hour or so from 8hrs of fly casting. I did get sore in my upper back when I used the M.I. Monster Mag rod and ripped them, but I went back to using my Big Dawgs and now it's not an issue at all. The softer, lighter rod actually helped take some of that load and now I don't get sore or tired at all. I consider them the easiest bait in my boat in terms of fatigue along with a straight retrieve crank bait. Maybe I'm just carrying a bunch of pain in the ass baits! LOL

As far as Thornes, they were hand poured for the shows and I bought up what they had left. They've got a bunch of of the mini-dussas left, but the standards and mags they had are in the back of my truck. Maybe Rollie and Helen's would have some.

I personally don't find throwing monster dussas and pounders difficult. I've done it for countless hours straight numerous times. I'd rather do that than burn double 10s with a 400b! Scott, I had tendonitis in my elbow last year for 6 months. I ended up having to go to physical therapy to heal it. It does suck. Know how Ya feel.

I hope your not doing the Jim Saric lob!! I love watching guys throwing big rubber like 12yds and telling me it's not bad!! I'm just jokin with ya Jim. I always wear a elbow brace when I'm out, really does help my left elbow but, I still say that if you have your bait tuned right they pull like a b*tchy b*tch!!!!

No, nothing like Saric! You gotta remember, my full time job is swinging a hammer, so my elbow gets a workout. After 12 hours of swinging a 2lb mini sledge, a Pounder on the end of a 9'3 rod isn't so bad. [smilie=brows.gif]

You guys are all wussies lol! I do think the newer (harder rubber) megadussas are harder to pull than pounders, but they still are not that terrible to use. Casting them isn't a huge deal if you let the rod do the work and once they get into the water they aren't that bad. I'm just hoping MI redoes their double dawgs so they don't act like shallow dawgs.

I knew I wasn't smoking crack! I've always thought rubber was the easiest to throw. Ripping, sure, but I get more worn out ripping cranks than I do pounders.

And I agree on the double dawgs and double pounders…they're nice in certain applications, but I stopped buying double pounders. Plus, if you throw one enough, you'll see how they attach the tails separately….because they start to fall off at a seam on the back of the bait. I've had four double pounders that I've had to reglue a fairly new bait. Never had an issue with double mags, so they may be one mold. Love the new USA made pounders, but they need to put the spring back in them like they used to. I'm pulling a few heads through on mine.

Yeah, I'm becoming a wussy… The older I get the more I hate tossing a big dussa! Don't get me started on double tens! Hate it! Then what's even worse is trying to cast a Big Game 7.5" Scuba Diver! My gosh bringing one of those in makes your whole damn body shake!! Talk about resistance! Back to the gym this winter for sure!

I don't know how I tweaked my elbow but it's becoming really bad! I need to get it checked out for sure. Hopefully no surgery but for now I really just tough it out.

Speaking of double tens.. I've actually been impressed with A-Team's Tackle Vortex Blades. Im not a big fan of Bob Mesihkomer but those blades still create a thump with much less resistance in the water. If you throw lots of big blades and get fed up with being tired then check out A-Team Tackle. Pretty big difference! I can fish them pretty much all day w/o being tired and burn them.

I like to rip the pounders and monster dussa's. As far as the Dbl 10's, I'm very impressed with my Ljv for that application. Sure, it will only burn them as fast as I can crank but with that power handle, it's not bad at all. With my set-up I'd have to say that dbl 10's are the easiest of the three to deal with for long periods of time.

I know you were replying to me, it just didn't make any sense haha. The megadussas do pull much harder than the pounders as their three tails seem to drag so much more in the water.

I think that only may be part of it though. I think the main part about why they pull harder is the design of the body with those flat wings that potrude out from either side. I think a LOT of the water is catching on those, and trying to force the bait slightly downwards as well. [smilie=2c.gif]
