The Gander Mountain in Kentwood has mag dawgs for only $11 if anyone is interested. Only three colors (cisco, black/chart, and walleye I think), but still a heck of a deal.

12 bucks each for mags: glitter oil/orange, Sherbert, black/chart, somebody just got the last Cisco, 🙂
10 bucks each for regular: Cisco, and all the colors above.

Jim does have quite a few kids, jk.

Jim, I honestly don't know how to tell. They have the single hook on the top so they aren't brand new.

Lol. Since we are speaking in 'sex lingo', here's how you tell an old Dawg from a new. An old dawg feels squishy like your pecker when there are no women around. A new dawg… well, more like when you're ready for business. [smilie=biggrin.gif]

I don't think they are the really bad rubber, but they aren't the brand new ones. They look to have decent hooks and split rings on them so that is a good sign. I always hated when the Dawgs had 2-3 crappy split rings on each hook lol.

What ever they are they have to be better than the new UV Dawgs….They do not take to well to the solder gun, stay away from the UV dawgs IMO.

I'm loaded up on rubber. Just got back from my pilgrimage to Mom and Dad's house (Minnesota) and Thornes. Picked up their last hand-poured monster Medussas with the fat pounder profile…and picked up 12 new custom pounders from a "source" I have up there.

And did you know Thorne Bros will give you a free key chain if you spend $250 in there? I got three new key chains. God, I love MN…

Monster Dussas-

those are sweet, but with a pounder profile and considering how hard those monster dussa's already pull, i bet those are hell after a few hours

If dussas and pounders pull hard for you, you're using the wrong rod. They shouldn't pull hard at all. At least they've never bothered me.

pounders aren't too bad, monster dussa's pull quite harder than a pounder. I should of been more clear. They are a lot more of a workout throwing for 6-8 hours instead of a few.

My rod is fine its a MI pounder rod. Monster dussa's were just different first time i threw them cause they have a different kind of pull and a heavier pull. Going back to a pounder after that was like going from a pounder to a mag dawg.

Once i got use to it it was all relative

I agree…Monster Dussa's pull hard. I'm currenly using a T.I. 9ft.XXH. Pounders are a breeze though…..

I gotcha. I can see that, I've just not noticed it because to me, any and all rubber pulls like a breeze. Throwing fly/gear 75/25% rubber is a smaller part of my "diet." If I'm throwing gear when it's warm, it's blades on a Tranx or ripping something big. If not on gear, it's a fly and my hands cramp up after a few hours, so rubber is a dream to me! I do throw rubber in the fall alot more so I'll take notice of how each one pulls.

The other thing that prob makes me get tired with those things is how hard i rip them. When i casually pull them it is no big deal, but trying to locate some active fish i prefer ripping em hard and that can beat me down after a bit. That's why i thought those monster dussa's mixed with the bigger body profile of a pounder would really pull. Id be interested to try one, does thorne only sell them in store? or can u get some online?
