Dnr website lists Ford lake in Washtenaw county as one of the "better fishing waters" for Muskie??? How old is that???

All I know is my cousins used to live on that lake and it is a %&*-hole. We used to catch some monster carp fishing from shore, but that's my only fishing experience there. I've heard its a good walleye lake but I would never touch a thing that came from there.

While I wouldn't eat anything from there, I wouldn't call it a *%#@hole. It does get quite murky from the runoff after a rain or when the dam further up the huron is open. It does have an excellent smallmouth fishery, that I do know. We've also caught a few of those eyes' while targeting the smallies.

I was just wondering how old that info is on the dnr website. The only muskies I know of were the ones that were planted there during the tiger days.

Rick, pretty sure they were tigers. About 20 sum years ago they did a big kill off on Ford. They hauled away tons of carp. It and Belleville are down stream from the Ann Arbor waste treatment plant!! It is supposed to be good for walleye & smallies.

Sorry about that, that's what I get for posting at 1:20am after quite a few "pops". Thats just the first thing that came to mind when I thought about ford lake. I haven't fished it in at least 10 years.

Lol, no prob!!! I've probably done that a few times myself!!! Actually, I've mostly fished there after dark until the sun starts coming up. I'm sure it looks like a totally different lake at that time. Kinda like that girl at the bar………
