T’was the night before the opener,
And all through my house,
Not a creature was stirring,
Except this dumb louse.

I sure couldn’t sleep,
Though tackle was prepped with care,
Hoping that tomorrow ol’ Esox,
Would explode from her lair.

And smash just one of my baits,
Give me a fair chance,
To get the hooks in her,
Try to tame her savage dance.
