So a few weeks ago I posted a video clip where I failed to trigger a catchable fish boat side because I didn't use enough speed in the outside turn to trigger a hit. Here is a successful version of nearly the same scenario. The takeaway is to see how ripping the bait through the outside turn and towards the surface with a lot of speed caused the fish to cut the corner and eat with a speed burst. Not perfect form by any means but effective in this case. While I often intend to use a more traditional figure 8 I find myself reverting to the oval method in the heat of the moment more often that not but many times it is effective ather on the first outside turn or the 2nd like this fish. It was just a small fish but the way this year has gone so far I will take it.
