Hmm…
My 2 cents… sell quality wire leaders for casting and offer flouro spolls for trolling.

For tied leaders 60-80lb works best. If you are willing to spend the money and time to learn how to crimp with double barrel crimps then go heavy. Becasue flouro has nearly the same light refraction as water it's nearly invisible – right? So, it doesn't matter how thick it is because it is still invisible.

I've experimented with flouro for a few years and have tried it side by side w/ wire and I see NO reason to ever use it as a casting leader.

I agree with Will totally. I have tried Floro for casting both light and heavy and like wire better. With wire solid or 7 strand and real nice wire like 49 strand surflon you get a smaller diameter and I just plain get better action from smaller diameter stuff. Even on my trolling rods if Im not using inline weights Im using wire. I use Floro for my Big Lures(12" ,15" and 13" grandmas) The fat diameter does not effect the bigger lures like it does 7" Lokes and such. Kingfisher
