the truth is musky fisherman are all selfish and we all want to be the best, i dk i dont want to be rude but i agree with swanzey those reports were worthless lol.
Maybe we all need to stop making musky fishing a competition, but focus on how awesome it is to just be on the water, and fishing.
I think that says a ton right there about how the report section is perceived and how it shouldn't be perceived. If we all focused on "fishing" and fishing better what you NEED to see in a report isn't the lure, color, depth, retrieve speed, etc. What you really NEED to know is lake condition. Simply posting relative conditions means the reports don't look like a bragging board.

I would not say the reports are worthless. They have helped me tremendously at times. Water temp and clarity play a big role in the lakes I choose to fish, and I always appreciate updates on those from time to time.
There you go. If everyone had read Buck's book all you would want to know in a fishing report is the temp, clarity and weed growth. Based on that information finding fish should be related to how conditions have or have not changed since the last report.
All that said, if I talk to someone on the water (or they send a PM) and they ask what has been working and not working I'm happy to share as much or as little as they ask about. Funny though… that doesn't happen very often.
To me the bottom line is that this club should be about educating folks, helping people, promoting and protecting muskies. If we can't help members then how can we expect to help anyone else?
Personally, I have learned alot of great information from people in MMA and would like to learn more. I would also like to help out other people so that they can enjoy this sport.
I will post reports this year and if one of those reports helps one member catch a fish then that would make me happy.
Reports definitely aren't worthless! Water temp, clarity, weed growth play a huge part for me in deciding what lake to fish and what lure to throw. On Murray I can pretty much know what lure to throw and what depth to fish based on those reports. Fish make predictable movements based on these conditions and it definitely helps to have people reporting them. Do the fish always move to the specific locations I think they will be at under these conditions? No, but it definitely is a good place to start. It is nice to have info on what lures to throw and what depth to fish, but I like to figure that stuff out for myself on new lakes. Of course I have asked for help on new lakes, but even when I do get help about location or lures I still want to know why the fish are there and why they reacted to certain lures over others. I don't like to just fish when and where people tell me to.
