THIS IS NOT TO SPREAD ANY KIND OF RUMOR.
Anyhow NPR just ran a news story about fish dieing by the 10's of thousands across the midwest. Has any of this happened here in Michigan?
I have barely fished this year, have not musky fished at all, and there are multiple reasons….Hopefully taken care of by next season.
This however is to explain why I'm asking what is probably a stupid question. I'm severely out of the loop this year.
a lot of the shallow lakes were having this problem as the water was heating up to fast/hot and there wasn't enough oxygen in the shallower lakes. I think dean lake and a few others had mass pike die off because of it, but haven't heard much of the heat killing any muskies in any of our local lakes.
Louis Stout's site had a small story also.

BTW Since this is my second link to another site I hope that isn't frowned upon, and I'm certainly not doing it on purpose. These are just places/stories I stumble upon.
In fact I just found Louis' site a few minutes ago

Theres a thread from a few weeks ago. Some shallower lakes and the larger rivers like the grand had some pretty major northern pike kills during the heat wave in the beginning of july. Never heard of any other species being severely affected here in Michigan. Just a few more dead fish than normal.
