How would you account for the lighter body color and rounded fins ?

The tip-up is called Finicky Fisherman, it has a small motor that jigs your bait for 5 seconds every minute. It also has a small lamp that uses lamp oil that heats the box in rally cold weather, it will help to keep your auger hole open. It also a light that activates when the flag goes off for night fishing. They were built by a guy in Wisconsin, he does't make them anymore but I see them for sale every once and a while.

Will, it is Lake Gogebic it is stained that is what threw me off as far as the color. My wife caught a bigger pike later and the color was more like you would see on a northern.

I watched a guy catch a fish on the Huron river a few days ago that I swore was a ski from a distance. So I went up to him as I saw he didn't have any tools of any kind. When I got to him, I said "nice catch" and realized it was a VERY pale colored northern. He asked if we wanted it. I said "No, but we've got some pliers if that can help you out some." The fish totally inhaled his little shad rap. He let me unhook the fish and asked again, "You sure you don't want him?" I slid him back into the water and told him "No, they've gotta be at least 24" to keep". He looked at me with a weird look because I came over there and unhooked his fish and released it without giving it a second thought. And it was all because at first I thought I would save a muskie's life. (Which I probably would've.)
Sorry, I know this story has nothing to do with yours! lol
