Its that time of the year again, guys. Looking for some volunteers to man the fish fest booth. I've volunteered to organize our efforts at the hatchery this year. In return Will has agreed to come up with some new material for our display. Any ideas would be welcome.

Lets put on a good show for the kiddies this year, and maybe get a little time on Austin before or after the festivities. [smilie=brows.gif]

E-mail or PM me, or reply to this post if you would like to help out this year.

Hey all, this is a really fun day and if you work it right you'll only work the booth for a couple hours (I'll bet you'll want to stay longer though). You'll also get to see some cool hatchery stuff and maybe even get a "special" tour to the muskie building.

You don't need to be a muskie expert to work the booth. You will talk to people and kids that don't know a thing about muskies which is why MMA attends every year. Education is the reason we have this booth at Fish Fest every year and this is an excellent opportunity for us to talk to people about the things that are important:
– the difference between Muskellunge and Northern Pike
– why muskies are important in the lakes they are managed
– muskies don't eat everything in the lake/river
– why they should be released
– fish handling and proper release

I'm the Duck Creek (Muskegon Co) watershed coordinator and have to cover the DCWA booth with local Blueberry Festival. Your booth will be more fun than mine. [smilie=shrug.gif]

Chemi-

It is just as important to show people why they should be respected. I have not been to fish fest but I have worked the "No Child Left Inside" day, it is a blast and I guarantee the best audience you have ever had, I always take a few battle scarred lures and pictures, people love it.

I have to confirm this with Ken but based on what has been posted here this is what I think we have. I don't know who he's heard from by e-mail or by phone but I don't think he's got any others since we last talked. It looks like we could at least one more person in the afternoon on both days and it would be really nice to have 2 more people for both days.

Saturday, July 19 (hours 11-4)
10:30 – 1:00
Will
Ken Murray/Max Murray

1:00 – 4:00
Tom Carter (HemiChemi)

Sunday, July 20 (hours 11-4)
10:30 – 1:00
Kid Coulson/Dave Ulery

1:00 – 4:00
Tom Munson

If this looks OK to everyone please let Ken know by posting here!

Fish Fest is this weekend, if you still want to help get in touch with Ken!

For those in the GR area this is only 45 mins from you and I promise you'll enjoy your time at Wolf Lake.

It would be nice to have someone there on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon so Ken doesn't have to cover those shifts!

Boy, who scheduled this thing right around the full moon??? I am going to try to take the afternoon shift on Saturday. I cannot write it in stone, but promise to do my absolute best. I've been working on the wife telling her it'll be a great time for the kids as well.

PLEASE HELP!!! I can't work the Fish Fest Sunday as I will be watching my 3 kids as the wife is out of town. Totally my fault, I am hoping someone will bail me out! As a bonus to going to the fishfest, you can swing by D&R and check out their musky baits.

Boy, Tom! That was quick! 12 min to get her to change her plans. Sounds like you married the right woman! [smilie=2thumbsup.gif]

I forgot about D&R Sports. I'm going to have to check out their new musky section. Thanks for the reminder, Tom!
