Fished the St Clair river last fall and decided we would try the main lake this time. I'm trying to figure which ramp to go out of etc…. I'd like to fish the US side. Any advice would be appreciated. Please send a PM.

Thanks – Heavyhound

Here's a bunch of Michigan water for you.

Depending on boat size and the forecast you may want to put in at Fair Haven. I prefer to use the Selfridge ramp or Harley Ensign because it's faster to get to than Fair Haven. Selfridge to Bouvier Bay is about 8 miles. Not bad first thing in the morning but can be a pain once all the pleasure boats are out.

The mayflies are going strong and that usually moves a TON of forage into Anchor Bay.

These areas are good all year but seem to be best in from now through August.

These areas, on the east side of the bay, are close to Fair Haven and are also good mid-summer spots.

Once the bay warms the channels attract fish particularly after the mayfly hatch winds down.

That should get you started and gives you about four days worth of casting water.
