I'm headed up to the family cabin at houghton lake for the weekend and I'm planning on going over to fish the lower chain one day. I've never fished any of these lakes and I'm planning on primarily fishing skegemog. I know that there all low density lakes and I'm not expecting numbers of fish but rather looking for my best chance a big one. I'm planning on both trolling & casting to try to learn some of the structure. Are either of the lakes better for this time of year or is there a technique/presentation that I should devote more time to maximize my chance at getting bit? Any pointers would really help I'm probably going to be fishing Friday if anyone else is going to be out there I would be more than happy to compare notes.
