Dahlberg's subsurface Wide Glide. What an awesome bait! I've been throwing it at the local pond and so impressed with this glider. It takes a little bit of learning and it's not the easiest glider to work but once you get the hang of it, it's so sexy in the water! You can burn it, pop it really wide, have it break the surface and even work it slow if needed.
Plus, Larry's my fishing idol and I just want to catch fish on his baits. I know he's had a horrible last couple months with his Son being murdered. I have a feeling his baits will produce no matter where you fish! I've been impressed with all of the baits he brought to the market this year! The guy is just as nice and down to earth as anyone of us. He does it for the love of the sport.

Not sure what will hit the water first, prolly some sort of glide or twitch bait. With a box full of new lures there will be a heck of a lot of lure changes as the day goes on.

I may start with either a Bulldawg or double Dawg or a baby girl bucktail.

everytime it has been light west winds and gin clear, namely murray I have done really well on weagles, but only if it has slight chop. I also doubt it will be a bluebird sky day on the opener

although i have a lot of stuff that i will use that day, after stockin up recently

I'm just going to assume that when I back the boat in the water, I look back and there is a 52" sunning under the surface, and then a splash catches my eye up by shore and there is a 49" that just missed a swipe at a school of redhorse. So in that case, I think I'll go with a 7.5" Grandma and twitch that 49 like butter. I leave the 52 for my partner, cuz I'm just a nice guy and I love netting big fish. But if he insists that I catch the big one, or both fish, then I think the big one out in deeper water might get my new little softtail phantom, and baptize that baby by 52" of fire!!!!

That's a great wet dream, Duke. Were the naked women dancing in your boat, or your friend's?

I got 4 handmade double 8 bucktails from ebay. I think the brown and red one will hit the water first

It will depend on which lake I hit, but I think a 6" Seducer glide bait from MuskyRuss will be the first bait to hit the water. After that I think some Moski twitchbaits will get a lot of action.

I have opening day Little League on Saturday so I have to be out of the water at 8am. Probably be out there throwing Moski 4" teardops around 3 am at my favorite GPS marks, maybe something noisy on top or near the top depending on where I end up.

Probably last years hot early season bait for me- sucker colored Shallow Raider twitched slow. If not that my other favorite early season bait I call the "shadalicious". Its a modified Llungen DC8 with the rubber skirt cut off, an extra treble added, and a 5" strike king swim bait attached. It was kind of my attempt at a homemade version of a Mepps Sassy Shad, and it kicks some serious a$$.

ROFLMFAO!!!!

My very first bait? It will probably be a Teardrop, or a Shallowraider. I don't think I will be fishing gin clear water that day. If I was to, it would probably be a 9" Grandma.
