This doesn't LOOK like an effective muskie lure ๐

nah I would never try and confuse you Jim… and yes you can fish a Qburt out of the box!!! To me, a WTD topwater is a glider- the action/trigger is the same, the only thing different is the depth. The topwater puts out more sound which may pull fish in from further, but the gliding action is still the biggest thing that gets them to hit it. Have I changed your mind yet? Just kidding, you can call it whatever you want I don't care!!! ๐
If I'm thinking its going to be a glider bite, my choices of lures to go to include WTD topwaters. AND another thing!- if you don't love gliders then you don't love poetry- and by poetry I mean like a Hossa-Datsyuk-Holmstrom tic tac toe scoring play, and if you don't love that you are weird!!!

And don't ever worry about offending me, I can take it!
Hi Jim,
BTW, I just sent you a pm on another topic.
My favorite glide baits are:
1. Manta (they also make a surface "skimmer" since you asked about it)
2. Dun Wright Dancer
3. Hell Hound (just follows so far though)
4. An original model Reef Hawg (weighted) can also be worked similarily
and successfully!
