i have six gliders all season i used only one glider. slammer drop belly color goldenshiner. caught one fish but brought up very many fish with the glider. 9 inch firebelly from(don slagle) awesome lure. purchased about a month ago received it used it first time two strikes from same fish and then later a huge follow from a massive fish. love the glides
Started using gliders more this year. Had some luck with Hoosier Handmade 9" everytime I used it moved fish even after I bounced it off a boat hoist 🙄 Just picked up a Hughes River and a Trueglide to play whit next year.
I started making some gliders this year. The 8" glider had some looks from a nice fish at Murray. also had a fish swipe at a 7" glider that was not even painted.

LOVE gliders!! No day on the water is complete for me until I've one tried at least for a little bit. There is kinda a lot of glider theory about when to use and what type that may or may not be completely bunk. My favorite glider line up includes: Manta, sQburt, Dunright Dancer, Striker, Danczyk, Strike Pro Bandit, Magic Maker, Phantom, Viper, Weagle (yes gotta count topwaters). Many more work well, but these will cover about all situations (top to deep, fast to slow, skip to hang)
By all means, feel free!
But, I did not say gliders are the best for catching muskies. I said I love them, and I love them because they are cool, fun, and pretty to watch! And of course they do make muskies come unglued too, and there are some times when they are the best chance of getting a strike.

Now, my definition of a glider was thought to be a lure moving side to side underwater. A glider can be considered a "walk the dog" topwater also?
I am a fan of the older Bikini Turmoil the new ones are basically a Manta, anything Hoosier, and I have an older Viper that has a real funky action kind of a 45 degree glide as a opposed to a side to side. If we are including topwater I have a few poes but 1 in firetiger that seems to get the most play??

You started with "LOVE gliders!!" and I was going to start with "HATE Gliders!!" [smilie=biggrin.gif] Then I decided that might be a little strong and I might up offending someone/company… again. 🙄
So… Like any lure they are just a tool and can have their time and place if I can catch fish on anything other than a glider I’ll avoid the gliders.

No… that would be a WTD Topwater and not a glider – Duke is just trying to confuse you. Calling a surface lure a glider is like referring to weeds as “structure” they simply are not structure.

Now, Duke. This S.Burt thing… That's that thing with the pointy nose, and the grub-like tail, right?? You can just fish those types of things straight out of the box, right? You don't have to do ANYTHING to those, right? Right? 😀 [smilie=brows.gif]
