What is your favorite fall technique and what type of water do you look for?

I like to fish big water with big baits in the Fall. I love the northern lakes up around Torch lake. Lake St. Clair has been good to us in October and November in the past. I still use all the tools,Top water, trolling ,twitch and jerkbaits,Bucktails and Rubber. Mike

I've done well with glide baits in mid to late fall, and on any water I've fished, though maybe it's because after a little luck with them, I use them too much. Mike's Claws have also been a very good go-to bait for me in cool to cold water.

as most things, it depends on the lake and situation but I usually like to fish bigger baits and fish them slower. On shallower lakes I love suicks and twitchbaits. On deeper lakes I try fishing the deep edges and deeper weeds with slowly pulled dawgs/superDs. I keep saying this but I want to try some trolling as I feel im missing out on fish that are deep. I also am going to try some fuzzy duzzit jigging this fall as I have heard some good things about that.

I love big crankbaits – casted not trolled- and a shield lake, give me clear water and giant rocks and I am a happy man, maybe break a little ice in the morning…thats the good stuff right there. I also like to start the day with some BS story from lucky just to get me going!!
