Make way for the Muskie!
Over the past 2 weeks DNR staff have been busy harvesting the muskie out of the lined ponds here at the Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery. These fall fingerlings were obtained as eggs from the Detroit River at the end of March. Now after 6 months at approximately 8-10" in size these fish will be stocked into each of our broodstock lakes, Thornapple Lake in Barry County & Bear Lake in Otsego County, with the remainder going to priority lakes across the state. #MIDNR #greatlakesmuskie #muskie #fishingMI ~K.Q.
Will noticed some information was incorrect as the eggs were harvested in May and Hudson is the other brood stock lake instead of Big Bear.
