Bought 2 Dawgs in WI. when I was up there, yeah you draged me from the 60's to maybe 1970. When we were drifting across Pete's bar (big weed bar) I threw this for 3 or 4 hours. Oh my god my collar bone was killing me, didn't throw it for a couple of days after that and just 6 casts at a time. Know what a dawg ball is, sometimes I could get it thru the weeds with nothing on it and other time I couldn't see it for all the weeds. I have 2 Okumas, one with regular handle and one with the power handle. Not too wild about the power handle. Yeah just call me a Girly Man!! 
Maybe try a mag Heli-Dawg or Mag Shallow Dawg over the weeds, a little easier to fish shallow weeds than a standard weighted dawg. I am no dawg expert by no means just a suggestion. That blade on the Heli does give a little lift to it, just don't buy the regular shallow dawg, they need to be weighted a little so they don't roll, mine as well just stick with the standard regular dawgs.
