So I have bought a few Dawgs as I'd like to use them more next season and I've noticed that the hook hangers are off center on a few. How is this going to affect the bait?

Shouldn't make a difference at all. They can all be bent and twisted to alter the action to make them run how you want.

What size did you get? I cut the top hook off my dawgs as I feel they do more harm than good. Mainly I believe they stop the power of the hook-set as the rack against the top of the muskies' mouth.

Thanks Will. Jason, I got a pounder and a few magnums. Probably going to get a few more pounders. Just going to start with the basic colors of each. Thanks for the top hook tip.

Got a new dawg at the OH show and it had no top hook.

Yes, the new "made in the USA" pounders we tested last year have no top hook.

A proper pounder rod will make life easier.

Yep, learned that the hard way when I started muskie fishing. One of my first lures was a MagDawg. I was throwing it with a 7' Gander rod. MH. 2 hrs of throwing that was a real workout.

I'm hoping that my XXH T.I. rod will work ok. It's rated up to 36 oz's. I think.

Yeah, that'll make easy work of a pounder. I've not used the TI rods, but hear good things about them.

I used to use Big Dawgs for pounders, but picked up a Monster Mag Musky Innovations rod and I even lob 2 lbrs on it.
