I have one and it sits on a rod that gets used for burning double tens and that's about it. I don't really like it for other blades or any other baits. Sure it could do more but I don't use it for anything else which means it isn't in the boat for much of the year because the window for really burning baits is short IMO. Yes it is a good tool for the purpose, no I haven't had any problems with it, yes you do need to know how to cast a baitcaster without a spool brake or you'll spend a fair amount of time picking backlashes, no I would never hand it to a client.
I rambled more in my PM but the short version is I liked mine a lot for two seasons, casting ease, power and speed then like many have reported yes the manual engage spring went, then the whole thing siezed up later this season. Got it repaired and we'll see what happens. If it lasts after the fix, great. If not, they don't seem built well enough, at least for my ineptitude.
