What cool stuff did you find at the show or the swap?I bought one lure at the show for myself but
spent about $600 for the banquet. I couldn't find what I was looking for at the swap but did sell some stuff and find some good deals too.
That was fun!!! I was like a kid in the candy store at the Musky Innovations booth. HAHA!!
I got a couple things from both the show, and the swap.
Show:
– Pro Dawg
– Some hooks that I needed
– A new Okuma 9'3 telescoping rod (Didn't know you could haggle a little with Thorne Bros. so I got a GREAT deal)
Swap:
– Pro Dawg
– Pacemaker
– Voodoo Tails [smilie=brows.gif]

The Okuma guy I talked to in Novi told me about their new 9'3" rods, but didn't have any to show, unfortunately. Did you get the heavier-action or lighter-action one?
Tom – I've got both. If you want to see/feel them at the next meeting let me know. BTW – do we have anything scheduled for the next meeting?
Bill:
Stinger hooks
Glow-in-the-dark rubber stops
Surgical tubing
A real nice custom weighted Wabull at the swap meet from Chad.
Lots of possible vacation spots next summer
Brendan:
Lure bargains
Free Bulldawg from the booth
Discounted Swim bait lure from Rollie and Helen's
Subscription to Musky Hunter Magazine
3 free lures from the swap meet
2 nice swim bait lures for 2, and 4 dollars.
All in all, lots of good advice, nice seminars
I picked up a Just Encase tackle box and cleaned out all my several other boxes and put it all into my new box.
Picked up a new Krave, a few bucktails, some custom new jakes, shallow dawg, mag shack attack and a skinner for my friend.
FIrst time going there, i was overwhelmed by the 9000 degree heat in that gym, and couldn't believe that no one contacted the school to turn off their vents from pumping 85 degree heat into that place with thousands of people in it haha.
I was overwhelmed by all the crap there, but my dad was sweating like a slave so i didn't wanna make him wait all day.
Thought i saw Jim, Will and someone else looking at H20 tackle stuff, but wasn't for sure if it was u guys or not.

Really? I didn't think it was too bad. I remained in a long sleeve shirt the whole time. It was MUCH hotter at the swap.

Other guy had to have been Trevor. Us 3 were at that booth at around 12:30 I believe? Picking up the stuff for the banquet. BTW Will – Did you ever stop back at that booth to get the bonus stuff from that guy?
Got to the show on Saturday around noon and spent until around 6:00 walking around and taking it all in with a few other MMA members. I had just as much fun at the show as I did last year except this year we attended the swap meet. I ended up getting just one bait, Brad's new 7 inch twitch bait that looks awesome. I did purchase a Just Encase tackle box which is also very cool. We stopped by and spoke with Steve Herbeck to discuss a trip to AML. He's a trip to talk to and drops more F-bombs than anyone I know, including myself. I thought the show was great and seemed more crowded than last year, but it could have been because the weather was better on Saturday this year, although things a little icy when we got into Indiana for a few miles.

How to break them down, grease them, oil them, etc.[smilie=sign-hijacked.gif]
I like the sounds of that, or have an event sometime where we bring our reels with us and clean, grease and oil em up, and maybe troubleshoot reels for people like me who can't figure out why the reel just ain't right. I'd be up for something like this if I didn't have to work that day.

That's exactly what I was thinking too. Kind of a workshop meeting.

Know anyone at Okuma that could come?
Only person I know is in CA. I've met the rep for Michigan but don't know his name but it is probably the guy you met at the show. He might be willing to come talk to us.

That would be pretty sweet. Talk about all the new line of rods & reels. I wouldn't mind ANYONE coming to talk about reels. How to break them down, grease them, oil them, etc.
I wonder if there is someone at a reel repair shop that would come in for a night and tear down, clean and re-build a reel or two so people could watch and ask questions. Does Grand River bait and tackle do reel repair? We would/should pay this person for their time.
