Duties of the job? I'm interested but my job schedule doesn't allow me to make all meeting/outings so I don't want to take this spot from someone if it requires 100% attendance.
The job revolves around sending checks once in a while but is actually pretty quiet most of the year because much of what we do is done with a check card/online. The two big responsibilities are:
– banquet: sending checks if needed for merchandise, taking cash/checks/cards and making the deposit the night of the event
– annual report/audit to Muskies, Inc. (this isn't a ton of work really)
Do you need to be at every meeting? No, it's not a requirement at all. The treasurer is supposed to provide a report (baiscally expenses and balance for the last month) at each meeting but that can be provided to the president/VP before the meeting by e-mail.
We don't have many transactions during the year so this is a pretty easy job until the audit comes and even then it isn't too difficult.

Count me in.
Great news JT. As will said, not too much work through the year. Big rush is in the spring for banquet and audit. If you have questions, let me know.
More than anything, what we really need in this position is committment, and longevity… Turning over the treasures position is a little bit of work… Paperwork, running to banks etc… So once it is transitioned, and you get your system set up, it really requires little work. Hope you can hang in there for a while 😀
