Confirmed. I got this yesterday morning but wasn't in a hurry to post it. A fish reported at 55" and 53# was speared.
You be the judge on the length and weight.

I would hesitate to say even 53". Maybe 35-38lbs? Sucks. And the guy says, I'm not finished yet. There's another one down there, and I'm going to get that one too.
Definitely looks like a nice fish, but doesn't look near to a state record. Kyle Anderson can barely hold his 50lb monster and this guy isn't struggling at all. I know the fish is frozen in the picture and maybe that has something to do with it, but I know most people would be struggling holding a 50lb musky.
I've been enjoying summer vacation the last 4 years on Burt/Mullet and Indian River. I love this body of water and even though it's very tough waters to fish you can sense there are some really big fish in there. The vibe I get from the last 4 years is there are very few catch and release anglers who fish these lakes. The spearing community seems to be pretty strong up there and when fishing you get the impression that your outnumbered up on these lakes. I sure hope MMA or the new WMA and every decision maker can stop spearing someday.
