I'm thinking about fishing Campau tomorrow night but do not know anything about the lake. If anyone could give me tips that would be great. Also, I have read that Campau can be a zoo at times with other boats and wondered if I would have any problems with tomorrow being friday. I thought I'd check out that lake since I'd be out there anyway.
It can definitely be a zoo with pleasure boats, expect to deal with ski boats and jet skis. Water has been pretty stained there this year 2-5' vis and very little weeds. Lake is full of stunted bluegills/crappies which like to suspend so watch your graph but also has lots of carp as well. I see most the muskies in 8-12FOW. Don't neglect the kettle side of the lake either though. Browns/golds/black best colors most of the time. Good luck.

Do the fish have a lure preference? bucktails, jerk bait, gliders, crank baits, or dawgs?

Anything can and does work there at times, just have to find what the fish want on any given day. I will say we have hooked like 60% of our fish there on figure 8s so pay attention and FOCUS on doing good boatside turns even if you don't see a follow.

Thanks for the info, I will post a report after I fish there tomorrow.
