Well I was right my radio was dead.Matteson`s is going to replace my pioneer cd stereo.Only drawback is lund is not promoting pioneer anymore,so I have a choice of a clarion or Boss.I always thought clarion was cheap and never heard of Boss,ne wouldn`t be talkin Bose??Boat stereo ..I doubt it….he said it`s a coin toss??Which is better..or who cares..it`s just a boat radio.

how can you hear the loons win you're jamming! Doesn't the radio take away from the peace, quiet, and tranquility of the fishing experience?
Bomba likes to listen to the radio! Last night while fishing we heard a radio commercial for deaf mute people! How do you concentrate on fishing when you hear a commercial on the radio that is directed towards deaf mutes? That is no BS either I almost fell out of the boat. I am not laughing at the deaf community, I just don't understand how they could hear the commercial.
Clarion is actually an upper tier brand. Ive never owned one of their head units myself, but if I were in the market right now theyd be near the top of my list. There is better stuff out there (mcintosh comes to mind) but they are definitely not a cheapo brand. Their 'pro audio' line is especially nice and a notch above the likes of the pioneer premier line and more on par with alpine. 'Boss' sounds like a brand youd find at the back of target or something. Not familiar with them at all.
Then again, its a radio, in a boat. You can pretty much forget about establishing a nice audio stage, and given the nature of the electrical systems in most boats, signal-to-noise and sensitivity are pretty much moot, too. 🙄
