boat modification for second battery

Looking to upgrade my trolling motor and that would require adding a second battery. Problem is that the battery compartment under the front deck has room for one. Modifying the deck to accommodate two batteries looks like a headache.
The boat is a Crestliner 1700 Superhawk. Access to the current battery compartment is in the middle of the front deck near the front bow. Not sure how to enlarge this or just place the second battery in the storage compartment immediately adjacent to the other battery compartment. If I did that access to the second battery would be somewhat of a pain.
Anyone try something like this or have any ideas?

Ran into that problem on an Alumaweld Super V, we ended up repurposing the live well space at the bow of the boat(never used it anyways) The space was large enough for two battery's along with the battery selector switch/disconnect mounted on the bottom side of the access lid
