I lost mine this week on LSC due to a split ring malfunction… thankfully not on a fish! Anyhow, I can't seem to find one, the musky shop of course claimed to have it… and they don't (big surprise there!) Anyhow, if anyone has one or two laying around they don't want let me know!

Jp would you mind elaborating on the failure? I too use them and if it's something to look out for I'd like to know (still a novice).

It just popped off the ring. I could barely open the ring to get it off and replace it… No idea, but somehow it worked its way off the split ring, right when I went to start a figure 8 I felt a tick, and it slowly sunk to the bottom. [smilie=dead.gif]

I really should have noticed something after the previous cast. I have had this almost happen once before, but noticed before I lost the bait.

Has anyone ever batted a 1000 on an order there? I usually just tell them to send something close to the same color and if you don't have that just send something in that color of a different lure around the same price… Its a mystery box when it arrives.

First off… JP order some black/org and I'll be happy to make it all black for you, takes five minutes.

Second… I will no longer order from musky shop or Thorne bros. If Aarons doesn't have it at MTO you don't need it.

Sounds like a great idea! I am assuming you need some orange tails?!?!
I ordered the other 4-5 from MTO. I am kinda annoyed that once again, the musky shop had it listed online, and did the old bait and switch. I told them to never mind the whole order…

I can elaborate on the split ring thing.. If you switch quite a few baits out on a particular split ring they will start to stretch and over time if you don't pay attention. Lost several baits long time ago as I neglected looking at the split rings as they wore out.

I was using the bucher split rings.

Exactly why each bait in my box gets it's own split ring. Once you get the split ring on the bait, just attaching it to the welded ring doesn't seem to stress them much.
