I`m looking for a glide bait almost similar to a manta hang 10,without the self destructive qualities of the plastic tail/lip.Only have one l left and although I love them,I have 4 that are broken, even after one strike!!

Help..

Dahlberg Wide Glide or Tackle Industries Sea Cow or Sea Calf. Dalhbergs Wide Glide doesn't look like a Manta but it's subsurface and with a little practice you can get it to glide out wideike a Manta, burn it and it's practically indestructable.

One lure = one fish… That's the name of the game!! Well, I guess if you're fishing Bulldawgs & Suckers it can be.
How about a Wabull? Love the action of those.

Cast them on a straight line as opposed to moon shots, and they'll last a long time 😉

Call them and have them send you another tail. If you send them a pic of the broken tail I've heard they'll send it for free.

My sea cow sucked as far as action goes.Maybe it was just me?? I agree with Scott though, softer landings are key! I do like the action of my Hoosier Hand Made gliders.

They are definitely harder to work than Mantas and it takes awhile to get the right rod action to get the bait going perfectly side-to-side so don't feel bad. Don't get me wrong, they are good baits but not as similar to mantas as I thought they would be. Might want to check out a HellHound or go with a Wabull.

Another bait that is somewhat similar to the manta is the turmoil by Bikini bait co. These are flat sided baits and can be purchased at Musky Tackle Online. I'm wondering if the mantas that are breaking are the later models? I've owned 4-5 since they first came out and have not had any problems with them, knock on wood! One of my early hang 10's has many fish caught on it and is still going strong.

Alright you knuckleheads it has nothing to do with the moonshot cast..LMAO..

Have hellhounds, wabulls, etc….Might look into the Dahlbergs or see cows..
Will..the back ends are destroyed and you could`nt even put a new tail in with a screw??

Just my typical bad luck I guess, usually everything I own breaks eventually..lol….maybe I`m to rough with them??Just like the sight fishing of them,swing…..swing….swing….CRUNCH !! [smilie=bangtard.gif]

[smilie=laugh2.gif] Dave are you sure it doesn't just happen when you make that 45 foot cast to the boat dock 40 feet away??? JUST kidding man- that was funny, I love your response.

I do wonder if that is just a string of back luck though- either way I would definitely get in touch with River Run, now that they are back in action, and see what they can do for you!

Sounds like you should have T'd the hooks before that rear hook wore out the bait. Also sounds like you've spent way too much time fishing a Manta… time to find other baits that actually catch fish. 😀

"Squirrel Harness"and "Whitey",the only two lures that have resulted in
fun, surgery(thanx WILL again!!)and Med center visits because of being
a "DUMB AZZ"as RED FOREMAN put!! [smilie=smoke.gif]

I know the "Squirrel Harness" has worked in the past. The big ones sure like it. [smilie=2thumbsup.gif]
