I think they both do real nice work. We have three from Joe Fitante and we love his attention to detail. His work on Michelle's 55 inch Spotted is just stunning. Mike

I like the some of the molds on the Lax fish a little better than some of Joe's molds but Joe's painting is in a whole different league. IMO there is also something that just isn't right with every Lax fish I've ever seen, it's something to do with the eye placement and painting of the face.

I'd go with Fittante. I agree with most everyone else that Lax's fish just never look quite right. Fittante is a little more expensive and has a little longer wait time but he is well worth it. I just placed an order with him to do a pike I recently caught and can't wait to see how it turns out.
