It was great to see you all again and put some faces to some new names. I'm still meeting and trying to remember all you new guys so bear with me. I am impressed with young guns coming up. It seems you all are bent on making 2012 the best year ever. This year is going to be great. Michelle was equally impressed. We have some really great members old and new.
The chicken was so good I had a hard time not making a pig of myself ha ha ha ha . Best line of the night Musky Prey(Bill) , with a dazed look on his face he says I have too many lures [smilie=confused.gif] [smilie=confused.gif] . Everyone have a great season,we will see you on the Water. Mike and Michelle
Last night was definitely a good time and the after party was hilarious [smilie=biggrin.gif]. The new place was nice even though it was a little packed and am really glad there was a buffet. The chicken and potatoes were great and the beers were very reasonably priced. It was nice to see all the people there and looked there the young guns team could have a pretty big roster at the Hamlin outing [smilie=2thumbsup.gif]

Glad everyone had fun and I'd like to thank everyone who helped out Jim and I with the event planning and the night of. Sorry if I miss anyone but hats off to Will, El. Angie, Matt, Melanie, Steve, Mike, Kid, Trev, Chris B., Tim M. Also a special thnaks to John Gillman for hooking us up as always. Brad, Fred, Mike and Tim M., the custom paint jobs were awesome as usual and I'm still smarting from losing out on the 10 inch custom Hellhound at the end there. Glad the food was better albeit the room was a bit cozy. Will be working on next year in the coming weeks.
I had a good time at the banquet, and my thanks go to the organizers, who I know worked hard on it. I especially liked the way the raffles gave us a choice of items to take a chance on.
However, I think that place is too small; many times I felt packed in like a sardine. I didn't think the food was all that, and wished there was a wider selection of beers. I also missed the larger number of things in the silent auctions that we've had in the last few years.
One thing I was very dismayed about was how badly we treated the speaker. I could hardly hear half his talk because of all the people who were talking loudly during his presentation, and I'm sure he felt disrespected. I'll be amazed if he ever agrees to return in the future.

Yes, we got a lot of good response from people on the way that the raffles were done. Thanks for the feedback!

Brookshire assured us in the beginning that it would not be an issue when we first told them what we were planning. We are already in the plans of another new venture to make things more comfortable next time.
As for the beer, I learned after a couple that we could walk around to the main bar in the restraunt and get any kind you wanted.
Lastly, in my defense, there was supposed to be a LOT more baits showing up on my doorstep that people promised, but just didn't deliver. 👿 But also, from another standpoint, it seemed that all baits went for a little more money, even though there were less of them. Last year, we actually lost money on a lot of items, because there was such a large array. So, from a business standpoint, this banquet was more profitable in the end.

I felt bad about that too, and went back to the controls and turned up the volume TWICE!

It has been like that for the past 3 years or so, but I think it was more noticeable since we were in a smaller place.
No disrespect or anything, but I can fully understand why lots of people got up and started looking at baits and conversing with each other.
I arrived a little late, but there were no seats when I arrived. Couldn't speak to the food as I didn't have a place to sit to eat.
I actually like the old venue more, but that could be because standing for 4 hours straight was a little tough.
Still a good night to see my muskie comrades, and grateful for those who put everything together.
