That is a very cool idea and something that I've never heard of, or thought of, before. Sounds like a $500 item to me…

I could do that for about $50. Spots would probably be all wrong but I could do it haha

woa woa woa there Ed; as I recall my baits had some success up there for ya (well maybe not for you but one of the guides maybe) hahaha [smilie=biggrin.gif]

This is true and I got a 40" pike on my Dockboy lure….I'm thinking a Dockboy lure with a pink skirt and (2) really large blades would be nice!

This could be expanded to the other inland lakes and I would probably pay a small fortune for the Lake Hudson map. I like the three color codes by season and maybe some recommended baits. Personally, it would be interesting to me to see how Will would do a Lake Murray layout and then compare it to Jason's and see how they compare.

Depends on who marks it, and if they're being TRUTHFUL… [smilie=bs.gif]

Not YOU! (Not for LSC, anyway! For Murray or Campau, YES. ๐Ÿ˜€ )

Truthful wouldn't be the an issue at all but the marked map would probably be marked with general "community" spots.

If I dumped my GPS on a map of St Clair I'm not sure I would be happy if MMA only made $500. I would also be concerned that the map would be copied for every friend of the person that owned the map. Not to mention my dismay if I found myself outside the "circle of trust"…

The differences would depend on if Jason has read Spoonplugging and applied the knowledge… Knowing that Charlie has read the book and more concerning the study of structure fishing, I can tell you that I have never seen Charlie fishing a spot that isn't a good spot.

Since when am I the Jolly Green Giant!! Murray maybe, but I dont know much about campau yet. Campau is just so small and has weeds all around that I can fish all of it and basically contact fish anywhere. I will learn it a lot more this upcoming year.

Charlie,

Just ignore the line of boats behind you next year….we're fishing for bass.

No, that isn't what I was saying at all. Just trying to point out the importance of Buck's book.

I would bid at least a $1 [smilie=biggrin.gif] and I think it would be fun to fish with some other members and as long as no one gets their feeling hurt because their "guide day" goes for $10. Just an idea to raise some money and get to know some of the other members better. What do you guys think?

At this point there is going to be a trip with Bob Devine (winner chooses species) <url url="[Permission to view this media is denied]

It is likely that will be the only trip at the banquet.

I did read it once and it has helped a lot. Ill have to read it a couple more times. It is a lot easier now to look at maps and pick out good spots to fish.

Yep. But the problem as I see it is there are few lake contour maps (for lakes in these parts) worth looking at. They tend to be inaccurate and woefully incomplete/low-resolution. Clearer water lakes like Murray make it relatively easy to guesstimate bottom contours from apparent water color and visual observation of submerged flora, but the mud puddles like Ovid and Thorn and Hudson need scrupulous probing with lures and sonar. It often seems like I'm driving on unfamiliar twisty roads in pea-soup fog.

back to the main post – I would like to see a nice beckman or frabill net as Joel took his good net down to lansing.

Hemi – maybe you should troll those lakes a little bit to learn them. Can learn the lakes a lot better and faster by trolling them and as Buck said trolling will tell us where to cast.

I don't see why he took it. Ovid doesn't have any fish over 30" anyways! All he needs is a walleye net! [smilie=brows.gif]

Water clarity should make little difference when learning water…

trolling is the TEACHER when on the water
