I was fishing Bankson on Saturday morning and when I left that afternoon, I asked the guys at the ramp how they did. They said they had a few runs and caught 1 keeper, a 43-incher. As they talked, it sounded like they kept it, so I asked to see it. Sure enough, there was the dead musky in their livewell. The guy who caught it started talking about having a picture taken with it and how to fillet it without any Y-bones. As it was, they were also using single hooks while using livebait. After a brief moment of trying to give them a couple tips and introduce Catch and Release to them, the one guy cut me off abruptly and said "Let's go!" and they got in and drove away. Sad thing is, this happens more than we like to think and the guy that got short with me has kept others this year too. That is why it is so important that we continue to educate people and stock our lakes.

I stoped over at Lake Ovid on Sunday and the MMA sign was missing from the post that it was on. And a DNR sign was on the post. FYI

Thanks LeMay OUT

unfortunately most people are only interested in what we can do for them RIGHT NOW!!! Many -and I use this word loosely- Sportspeople feel that when they harvest legally they are absolved form any responsibility for overharvest. This is not their fault, it is only what they have been taught since birth. You old farts 😈 –in the club are a rare breed of the "older generation" that understand the harvest versus increased pressure on a population. I have had the same conversation as many of you many times. It is not the same as it was in the good old days. exponential increase in angling pressure and an indirect variant in the population of fish. One goes up the other goes down. Do some people hate us- You bet they do. Try to take a right away from anyone without them understanding the reason behind it and just see how they react. There are people that are still alive and in control of sections of our government that thought slavery was and is OK!! when fighting this mentality the best hope of seeing it end is when the ignorant bastards die off and we have a chance of enlightening the more eco-aware and friendly newer generations.

At least you have to admit that the 42" Michigan minimum size made this fish available for several years past, say, the 34" Wisconsin limit. The guys were following the law and because the law said 42", it took a good fish for them to keep.
