Austin is really easy to figure out and fish. The whole lake is shallow, fairly clear, just find the best weed beds and start fishing over the top of them with bucktials, gliders, jerks, cranks, or topwater. Problem is Austin doesn't have a lot of fish anymore and most of the big females are gone so your most likely going to catch a 34-41" male. It will get a lot better for numbers in 2 years as the 2012 stocking gets big enough to target.
Thorn is a mean nasty beotch that is certainly not very beginner friendly but it has plenty of fish, some real big ones, and if your there on the right day who knows what might happen.
I'd honestly call this one a tie given the current state of the two lakes.
