I decided to give the Austin night bite one more go last night, before they close the ramp. Fished til 12:30 or so, then beached the boat and crawled in the truck for a nap. Jumped back in about 6:00 this morning and it seems the low life scum bags that were catfishing helped themselves to all the rods and reels in my boat. Four casting rigs and three trolling rigs while I snoozed in the truck, maybe 40 feet away. I wonder if they would have been so bold if they knew I was packing a .45. Probably a good thing I didn't catch em. Anyway, I'm out close to $1000 worth of tackle. 👿
So, if anyone out there has any good used outfits for sale, let me know.
And, trust nobody!!!!!! [smilie=brickwall.gif]

Ugh. Some people are just scumbags.

Do you have insurance that might cover part of it? It was in your boat, right? Also, file a police report…

Stuff like that makes me sick! People so classless to having no understanding of what it's like to work for things in life. Hopefully you can track them down someway or keep an eye out for them. If you find them let me know, I'll let you borrow a rod and dawg so you can go ahead and fish hook them in the corner of the mouth!

That sucks. I once had some scumbags take anything and everything they could steal out of my truck at the Morrow Pond access one night while night fishing for walleyes. Not to many things bother me more than stealing. Hopefully the idiots try to sell the stuff on Craiglists and you track them down.

Sorry to hear about your gear, we almost went out last night too. I have been seeing a blue minivan out late evenings (sometimes after midnight) with 5-6 people that shore fish. I had a strange guy flag me down as I was leaving at 1am past the booth asking me if I had a ruler to measure a 10 inch bass covered in grass and dirt…. Let me know if you need to borrow some equipment, I am going to be doing some boat maint. this week.

This was attached to a stringer and was a decent Cat."><url url="[Permission to view this media is denied]

it was pushing 30" if not more.

I think a Tazer would work great as well.

Thats the world we live in these days…. pretty depressing. I got my gas tank and battery stolen from my old boat at murray one year, i was only gone for ten minutes.

I hope you contact the local law enforcement officials Ken. The more I think about this, the more it pisses me off… Doesn't really matter if you have insurance, because you never really get "whole". And you still feel violated… What a shame.

Ken,

I feel for you. A person can't just relax for a few minutes without having to worry about getting your equipment ripped off….not right! I know that would really piss me off if that happened to me. I would follow up with the police as Chad suggested.

It seems worth a stop or two out there on weekend nights to see if the likely culprits show, and bring the .45… Seeing this made me want to grab my AR and pay 'em a visit…

I have been down the last 2 nights and amazed at how much after dark traffic goes through there. Basically looks like the trees have been pulled and that's it so far.
