Yup, I saw it and that's why I don't always downsize my baits in the spring. First two weeks of May last year I had two fish on pounders and one on huge creeper. Of course downsizing is always smart when fish aren't responding to large baits but when you think about a 10-14" bait, it's really not that big compared to a 20" redhorse….

My personal best was a pre-spawn fish that ate a 10" glide. You can definitely get nice fish early on big baits!

yea i never bought into the hype of saying going smaller in spring is good, because i don't really think the fish give a crap.

They are still gonna eat whatever looks like an easy meal to them
