My 6600 C4 recently took a crap on me (only 3 months after I bought it), so I sent it back as the warranty instructions said to Bobs Rod and Reel Repair in Wisconsin. I sent it out 4 weeks ago today, and as of today I have yet to hear anything from them. I went to the website today to send an email to them and the email was returned saying that email account doesn't exist. I even went back and triple checked to make sure I had the right email address that was given on Bobs website, then tried again, and it still wont go through. I decided it was no big deal, I'll just call the number given on the website. Well I tried calling about 10 different times yesterday and today, and every time, it came up busy. Again I quadruple checked the number just to be sure, and I had it right all along, still nothing but a busy signal.

Have any of you ever had to send you Garcia's back, and if so how long did it take? Did they notify you at all throughout the process or just send it back when they were done? Also, has anyone ever sent there's back to Bob's Rod and Reel Repair before and if so did you experience the same difficulties I am having?

I only have 2 good muskie combos, and right now I am down to 1 so I'm getting a little impatient. Also to make matters worse I lost the UPS tracking number when I shipped it back so I don't even know if it made it to the right destination.

ive never sent a reel out of state to get fixed, my dad sends all his charter reels to get fixed by this guy in ludington he knows and hes fixed up some of my muskie reels several times. Doesn't take very long either. If the guy's repair place is popular then he probably receives a ton of reels and might be backed up not sure.

Wow that stinks. This doesn't help you at all this time, but I have always sent in repairs/warranty work directly to Abu in Spirit Lake, Iowa and they come back in real short order. So next time try that, and in the meantime maybe call up Spirit Lake and tell them your sad story, they might do something for you if you catch the right person in the right mood.

I finally got through to an answering machine today, so maybe I am getting somewhere. I guess I can't do much more but wait and see if he calls me back.

I have sent back many reels, many times… All to Abu direct in Spirit Lake. They used to fix almost everything under warranty and no cost. In recent years they have started to charge, but not always… If you establish yourself as a long time abu user, and expline how th failure happened, demonstrating that you have not abused the reel, you can usually get the reel fixed under warranty. If not under warranty, the charge for the repair varies on the problem, but usually will range from $25-$40. When I have received their estimates in the past, I have raised a stink and was able to get the repair for nothing…. The turn-around time is usually fast… Within 10 days to 2 weeks.

FINALLY got a hold of Bob. Told me my reel had been done for the last week and he had been meaning to call me because he lost my address and wanted to ship it. If I wouldn't have kept following through who knows how long it would have taken. Good news is I should have it early next week, and I learned next time I'm sending it to Spirit Lake. Anyone else who needs to send back a Garcia avoid Bob's Rod and Reel Repair at all costs.

While we are talking about sending reels back, how about Daiwa's time turnaround? I sent a Saltist in about 2weeks ago, hope it doesn't take too much longer.
