It is always so sad to hear about these big girls taken every year up there. I assume she was out of Skeg/Elk?

This year might get ugly up there with safe ice pretty in all the known spearing spots so early in the winter, there is way more time for these tools to stab more fish then in the past few years. Unfortunately, a lot of these people couldn't care less about the 1 per year tag now in effect…

They could care less? Or couldn't care less? If they could care less, that would mean they have some care left in them, right? [smilie=biggrin.gif]

Gotta keep track, if the tag doesn't have an impact on harvest and we know harvest needs to be reduced there will have to be more protection.

Still don't know all the details but that isn't keeping me from being disgusted. There is a pic of it on torch river hardware's Facebook. Not gonna name names but it was harvested by someone recognizable in the muskie community. Will it looks like the one Tyler caught. [smilie=bs.gif]

Makes you wonder with that state record fish on whether he actually attempted to release it or not.

I know there's video of him trying to release the other. Thinking it's an ego thing but maybe I'm wrong and she just died. Doesn't say she was speared so maybe it was caught on a tip-up or something.

Click on the pick of her in the sled. Doesn't it look like a red bloody circle?

Well this ruined my day…doesn't make any sense why he would keep a fish like that when it was smaller than his own record fish from Torch.

So sad to see what people do to those special lakes up there…its amazing that they keep pumping fish like that out every winter.

Have yet to ever see a harvest tag on a harvested fish.

Special regulations needed up there. Who is the biologist responsible for that territory?

That's the third one over 40 lbs that I know of that has been harvested on the lower chain. Pretty disheartening

Disgusting, sad, and pathetic…..makes me sick. I'm just at a loss for words as to how this could happen? I understand spearing history and tradition… But WTF, this guy? Just too many lately, then there is the ones we don't hear about.

Its gonna be a long winter….lots of muskies dying. Heard about Hamlin, Margrethe, Smallwood, and Murray casualties already. None of them tagged in a legal manner, some undersized, and now this monster goes down. Sad [smilie=cry.gif]

We should start a thread to post all the dead muskies we hear about each winter…

I take it this is the same guy who caught the record fish! I sent a email to Heather & Mark and asked them why there wasn't a musky harvest tag on this fish. You watch they'll make up some BS answer and let him get away with it. Why is it that we can't get them to stop spearing muskies and they can spear all the pike they want.
